My favourite subject is history, and I really wish that time travel was possible. I would definitely go back to Ancient Greece. I  like watching documentaries about history, especially about Greek philosophers. My parents often call me smarty-pants because I always have something to say. That’s why I would like to talk to Plato or Aristotle. I’m sure they would appreciate me more.

I would like to go back to the time of the great geographical discoveries. I’m Indian, and I’ve always thought it was funny how Columbus believed that he found a new way to India when he actually discovered a completely new continent! I wish I was on board those ships and travelling seas I’d never known before. I like discovering new things. Today, we know all the continents on our planet, but one day I may discover a new planet.

Raj, 12

B3 Listen and read the text and do the exercises.

I’ve always been interested in Ancient Egypt. I would like to solve the mystery of how Egyptians built their pyramids. I would like to get my hands dirty and help build the magnificent statute of the Sphynx. I also like drawing, so I would be more than happy to draw some hieroglyphs on the wall. We all know how much Egyptians loved their cats. Cats are my favourite animals, too.

Ellie, 13
