Listening Test 3
You will be presented with four listening exercises: two for each audio file.
We recommend choosing and doing only one exercise – either a) or b) – per audio file.
You can mix and match the exercises as you like.
A printable version of the exercises is available for download at the bottom of the page.
1 You are going to listen to a podcast about bees.
a) Mach each fact in the text to the caption that best describes it. There are two captions that you do not need.
Tips & tricks for solving Task 1 a):
- Before you listen, study all the headings carefully.
- Find key words and ideas in each sentence.
- You will need to listen for the general meaning of what the speaker is saying. Think about what each heading might be about before listening. Listen carefully to check whether you can find any similar ideas in the passage.
- When doing this task in print, be careful: if you change one answer, you will have to change the others, as well.
- You will hear the recording twice: don’t worry if you don’t get all the answers the first time.
- Use the second listening to check your answers.
b) Put the sentences in the order in which you hear the information in the text. Write numbers 1 to 8. There is one sentence that you do not need. Mark it with X.
