St Patrick’s Day takes place on 17 March.
Read: the seventeenth of March

Independence Day takes place on 4 July.
Read: the fourth of July


British English (on) 21 March = (on) the twenty‑first of March

American English (on) March 21 = (on) March (the) twenty-first

 Saying years 

When saying years, divide the year into two parts and say the two numbers:
1985  >> 1985 >> nineteen  eighty-five

1793  seventeen ninety-three
1801  eighteen oh one
2000  two thousand
2003  two thousand and three

After 2010 you can say years in two ways:
2012  two thousand and twelve OR
2012  twenty twelve
