Dear George,
Back to school soon! Year 6 – here I come! I can’t wait, I get bored without school. Here’s a fun fact about schools in New Zealand: schools usually start in February here. It’s winter in England in February, isn’t it? It’s the end of summer here.
There are four terms. We have two-week breaks after each term, usually in April, July and October. And our summer holidays begin in the middle of December, when Term 4 finishes. You celebrate Christmas in winter, right? Confusing!
Summer holidays are six weeks long. Not too short, if you ask me ! I have to get ready for school soon. I need a new uniform, books and stationery. My mom always helps me buy everything. Matt, my stepbrother, isn’t that crazy about school. But he tries and we sometimes do homework together. Oops, he’s here, trying to read my email… I’ll write again later!
Love,
Ella
